Aaron Goodwin, the star of “Ghost Adventures,” has had his wife arrested for attempting to turn him into a ghost. Las Vegas police report that Victoria Goodwin supposedly devised the plan and attempted to engage a hitman for his murder.
Victoria, 32, was arrested on March 6 for solicitation and conspiracy to commit murder, and is currently held at the Clark County Detention Center with bail set at $100,000.
Authorities report that they were alerted to the scheme by a Florida corrections officer who acquired the cell phone of a Florida inmate in October of the previous year. The arrest report states that Grant Amato — sentenced to life for the murder of his parents and brother in 2019 — had been sending texts and Facebook messages to Victoria, who sought his assistance in escaping her marriage.
In a message, the duo reportedly talked about reserving $11,515 to compensate an unidentified assassin “once the task is completed,” with an initial deposit of $2,500. They supposedly talked about Aaron Goodwin’s whereabouts at that moment and the model of his vehicle.
“Am I a bad person,” police quote Victoria asking Amato, “because I chose to end his existence, not divorce?”
While Victoria referred to herself as “Victoria Candie” in the discussions, authorities claim the texts originated from her cell phone in Las Vegas.
When the police questioned Victoria regarding the messages, they assert that she confessed to contacting Amato after discovering him through a true crime documentary. At that moment, she informed them that she and her spouse of two years were experiencing issues in their relationship. She also acknowledged sending Amato money, which authorities suspect he utilized to purchase his cell phone.
When faced with the specific messages indicating her husband’s death, Goodwin claimed not to recall them. She expressed that her emotions for Amato resembled more of “fantasy or daydreams.”
Aaron Goodwin seemingly had no knowledge of the circumstances, thinking his marriage was strong. His Ghost Adventures co-star Zak Bagans informed TMZ that the situation was "emotional" for his fellow cast member and that he’s "attempting to offer him love and support" during this difficult period.
Victoria’s upcoming court date, a preliminary hearing, is set for March 25.
